Gabbar Singh (played by Amjad Khan) is arguably the most famous villain in the Indian film industry. The character appeared in the Ramesh Sippy movie Sholay along with Bollywood stars such as Amitabh Bachchan (Jai), Dharmendra (Veeru), Hema Malini (Basanti), Sanjeev Kumar (Thakur Baldev Singh), Jaya Bhaduri Bachchan (Radha).


Gabbar Singh is a dacoit who terrorises the village where Thakur Baldev Singh lives. He is wanted dead or alive with a huge reward on his head. Thakur Baldev Singh hires two ex-convicts Jai and Veeru to capture Gabbar alive so that he can kill them.
