Zico was an exception i think as he never had a really reliable back four behind him, denying him a world cup laurel.was the same case with messi in south africa.

Problem judging brazilian greats like pele, ronaldo or ronaldinho is that all of them had good teams.

obiousley pele os better. first of all he won the world cup three times and scored waaaayyyyyyyyyyyy more goals and he is the best player to ever play. Plus maradona didnt have nearly as big pf an impact as pele did because pele brought the game to america while maradona only played in europe even though i love them both i have to admit pele is a lot better

None of them, but Garrincha was the greatest ever. Period.

In terms of impact you would have to say Maradona. No player before or after single handedly improved a team the way Maradona did. Pele was the jewel in the crown of those Brazil teams. While pele won three world cups he was not their most important player in 58 and 62. In 1986 and 1990 Maradona was Argentina's only player.

Update the friendly counts for Maradona too, if you are going to compare stats be sure to fair to both Pele and Maradona. Obviously you are trying to point out 'facts" or was this use to make Pele the better player?
