Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert are both hosts of late-night TV shows on Comedy Central. While Jon Stewart is an openly liberal Democrat, Stephen Colbert portrays a character who is a parody of a goofy Republican.

On October 30, 2010 they organized a rally in Washington, DC. It was a joint rally but Stewart called his The Rally to Restore Sanity and Colbert called his The March to Keep Fear Alive and positioned it in competition with Stewart's rally.
