heres the deal, you can say...he speaks well. you cannot say ...he talks well. you can say he talked TO her last night or he spoke WITH her last night. as you can see you can use speak or talk when it refers to two people having a conversation, but when you are using it as a discription you must use speak.
examples. i need to speak with you or i need to talk to you.
she`s a good speaker
she`s a good talker is incorrect
