How many of you remember if that yummy breakfast pastry you had at Joe's was a Pop Tart or a Toaster Strudel? Diffen will not just help you remember, we will even help you decide which one you want to make your favorite.
Pop tarts are pre-baked breakfast pastries with different flavored fillings inside. They can be consumed fresh from the packet or heated in toasters for one heating cycle, and have an inner foil packet of two for added freshness.
Contents: Pop Tarts vs Toaster Strudel
Toaster Strudels are frozen pastries that need to be heated in toaster ovens before being consumed. They come with separate icing packets to be poured once the strudels are ready for consumption.
Pop Tarts come in over 50 flavors. They were initially sold in only four - Strawberry, Blueberry, Brown Sugar Cinnamon, and Apple Currant but now can be found in favorites like S’mores, Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chip Cookie, Chocolate etc. To appeal to a wider audience, Pop Tart manufacturers introduced frostings, printed messages, limited edition flavors and whole grain tarts as well.
Toaster Strudels have limited flavors and include those fillings that are most popular with U.S. consumers. They have Cream Cheese and Strawberry, Apple, Apple Cream Danish, Blueberry, Cinnamon, Cherry and Raspberries amongst a few. They have a list of discontinued flavors as well that include French toast, Chocolate Fudge, Watermelon and Kiwi Strawberry.
edit Heating and Serving
While Pop Tarts could be consumed without heating, they taste best when toasted for a minimum heating cycle - even with the frosting, as it won’t melt with the heat. However, if the Pop Tarts are left to heat for long, the filling in them can become excessively hot and cause burns.
Toaster Strudels come frozen, and need to stay frozen till they are popped into the toaster to be consumed. They should be toasted until golden brown, and served with the option of icing from a separate inner pack for taste.
Pop Tarts can be stored anywhere in the house at room temperature.
Toaster Strudels need to be in the freezer till they’re ready to be consumed. If they are left outside for over 12 hours, they can be deemed unfit for consumption.
Pop Tarts are manufactured by the Kellogg Company.
Toaster Strudels are manufactured by Pillsbury.
