Some chefs claim that fresh, raw turkey always tastes better than a frozen bird but this is not always true. It depends upon the geography and time of consumption.

Fresh vs. Frozen Trukey: Is Fresh Better?

Fresh turkey may taste better than frozen turkey if it is truly fresh i.e., there is very little distance and time between the bird being butchered and being cooked. However, if the place of consumption is far from a turkey farm and the bird has to be transported, then it is better to freeze it.

Freezing the turkey helps prevent contamination by bacteria and other germs, thereby making the bird healthier and tastier.
